To be a member of the Canadian Commercial Council, a REALTOR® must have specialized knowledge in one or more areas of commercial real estate, including appraisal, office leasing, industrial leasing/sales, multi-family/apartment buildings, property management, land/development sites, syndication, investment, retail leasing/business brokerage, consulting, farms/ranches, and hotels/motels. Members of the Canadian Commercial Council of REALTORS® must complete basic education courses covering commercial real estate, and completed a minimum number of commercial real estate transactions.
You may also see or hear about a variety of acronyms associated with a commercial REALTOR®. These are called designations, and they indicate the individual has completed the education or membership requirements as follows:

CCIM - Certified Commercial Investment Member
CLO – Certified Leasing Officer
CLS – Certified Leasing Specialist
CPM - Certified Property Manager
CRE - Councilor of Real Estate
